I didn't expect these to still function, since East Germany hasn't existed for around 30 years. I didn't even expect them to be anything other than rusted bits of steel since other places are selling comparable sets for upwards of $40.
I was pleasantly surprised to find that my set had zero rust, and that they still had a very faint glow. The glow, however, wasn't enough to be considered functional for night sights, of course. That would be impossible. Another $10 spent on strontium aluminate paint, however, fixed that right up. That stuff will glow brightly up to 12 hours. Don't get scammed by night sight paint that's basically a kid's toy. Just look up strontium aluminate and you can find it cheap.
These right here are the cheapest AK night sights you'll find - plus they're authentic. It's downright silly to pass these things up if you're lookin for night sights.
